Régie Libanaise is responsible for overseeing tobacco production, licensing, and sales across Lebanon, playing a central role in protecting government revenues and supporting national tobacco control objectives.
Tobacco control and regulation have long played an important role in Lebanon’s economic and public health landscape, with Régie Libanaise operating at the center of the country’s tobacco sector.
As illicit tobacco trade continued to impact government revenues and undermine product controls, Régie Libanaise required a more transparent and scalable approach to product authentication and supply chain traceability. The growth of contraband tobacco products, combined with increasing international expectations around supply chain monitoring and FCTC compliance, created the need for a comprehensive digital authentication program.
To address these challenges, Régie Libanaise partnered with SCOPSIS and Crane Authentication to develop and deploy a tobacco authentication and traceability solution for Lebanon. The program combined digital tax stamp technologies, advanced security features, supply chain intelligence, and online monitoring capabilities to support enforcement and improve visibility across regulated tobacco products.
By integrating authentication, traceability, and online protection technologies, the partnership strengthened Régie Libanaise’s ability to combat illicit trade, support regulatory compliance, and improve transparency across the Lebanese tobacco supply chain.
